ASL Immersions – for Intermediate and Advanced signers, are held all year. Students must have completed ASLA level 6 or the equivalent, or 3 college semesters. An Immersion is a real-world learning experience where students go on an all-day field trip and using ASL. Students get a rich learning experience especially in the use of classifiers, as we talk about what is happening in the environment. Past field trips have been to:
– Martha’s Vineyard Island
– Providence (walking tour)
– Plymouth and Plimoth Plantation
– Old Sturbridge Village
– Heritage Plantation (Sandwich, MA)
– Old Mystic Village.
Voice-off and technology-off is strictly enforced.
Each student is engaged in the experience and
actively contributing to everyone’s learning.
